I've made some changes to the discussion forums at ArtisticThreadWorks. The changes improve the access to several of the forums. I've also added a "Strictly Embroidery" forum. As the name says, it's a forum where everything is embroidery talk. But we've kept our original "embroidery and fun" forum too. They're both available, along with severl more forums by clicking on the logo that looks like this on ATW...

on our top navigation bar at ATW!

For the Resolution contest.....In 2008 I resolve to be a more thoughtful and kind person. To try to put myself in the other persons shoes and understand what they might be going through when all I really want to do is strangle them. I also resolve to finish at least every other project that I start and to have a large stack of completed projects by next Christmas so I can enjoy more of the special time and not be so hasseled. I also resolve to spend more time in God's word and building a stronger relationship with Him.
The first one will be the hardest for me as I tend to be critical and not have much patience but if I'm successful in the last one the first should come along without much trouble at all as all things are possible through HIM.

My two part resolution is: To be more patient, understanding and helpful were all are concerned in my family & friends, old & new alike.
AND
To finish those UFO's along with "breaking my stash" so that I can replentish it in 2009! I will be using alot of embrodiery designs to help me do this as embroidery is #1 right along with my sewing/quilting!
Keep up the great work & Happy New Year to all!

Regarding New Year's resolutions, I have been thinking about this for about three weeks. I have started working on this, putting categories and names down of so many people I know, and so many people I have lost contact with. This has made a long, long list....with old friends, relatives not contacted for ages, church members, shut-ins, thank-you's that are due, neighbors, "enemies"....basically to everyone I can think of. My plan is every day, to mail a short note of friendship to one of these persons on my list, telling them I am thinking of them and wishing them a blessed 2008. I will do this with every name on my list....and probably will be adding more.
I have started embroidering the lace embroidery of the cross inside a heart which has been supplied as a freebie on this site. I placed a colored piece of bridal tulle between 2 layers of solvy to embroider them on, using the same white embroidery thread in bobbin as on top. I trimmed carefully around the heart and when the solvy is melted away the heart with cross has this pale color to it. I have done 3 pink and 2 blue so far, and they are very, very pretty. With matching color of 1/8 inch satin ribbon, I glued a small loop in the center top of the cross so that it can be hung.
With each friendship note, I am going to enclose one of these embroidered lace hearts. Just my way of letting so many people know I am thinking of them and over the years I have cared for their relationship, kindness and friendship.
I have always made so many resolutions, and never seem to stick to them. This one I definitely will and hopefully it will bring a smile to someone else.

In 2008 I resolve to take care of myself and try to do all I can to slow down my kidney failure. I lost my Moma in October and she would want me to keep going and fighting this terrible disease. I also resolve to be the best Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt that I can be. To be more faithful to the Lord and treat others like I want to be treated. I wish you all a Very Happy New Year!!!!

I just wanted to let you know that the new picture of you and Holly is definitely a little more flattering than the characters of you. You both make a nice looking couple, one that definitely enjoys each others company. It's nice to see.

My new years resolution is that I will take time for myself to do the things that will uplift and calm me. I tend to focus all my efforts on my children and husband and give more than I get (Isn't that a mothers job?) but it frequently leaves me drained and crabby. So, I plan to spend more time sewing, crocheting/knitting, needlework, and reading.

One of my resolutions is to be more respectful of others and be nonjudgemental. Another is to complete any new projects this year and to finish at least one UFO for each new project done. Another resolution is to organize my sewing areas so I can spend more time sewing than looking for supplies. My primary resolution is to listen more than talk.

My New Year's resolution is to: Make sure I REALLY will use the designs I buy and not purchase new ones just because I like them. DH and I are living on a retirement income, and I don't need to have thousands of purchased designs stored away unused. I have access to many designs that are free, (on ATW, Nita's, or other sites on the web), and I resolve to use those instead of purchasing others.
