Airing out your computer and sewing machine without canned air.:

I found that the cleaning tool for my camera works great to blow out the sewing machine and also the fans on the laptop and keyboard. It looks something like an aspirator like they use on infants but mine also has a removable brush on the end (thus the camera tool).

First I use the brush to gather the lint and then I puff the rest out with short bursts of air from the aspirator. You can also brush out with an inexpensive small paint brush. So, all you need is a brush and an infant aspirator if not a camera cleaner.

Helen Crew:

I have a tip when embroidering and the stablizer is an iron on, or a type of sticky kind. If the sticky stuff attaches to the needle and keeps catching and breaking the thread, us an unused fabric softener sheet, position it so the thread runs over it as it comes off the spool. The sticky stuff will not stick on the thread, or needle and therefore the thread does not break.
