Holly and I went for breakfast yesterday at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. We only had a few hours of layover on our way through from Texas to Florida but we couldn't pass up a quick visit to the French Quarter for breakfast.
After breakfast we packed up the camper and hopped onto I-10 eastbound. Late in the afternoon we arrived in Navarre Florida where we'll be (mostly) for the next three weeks. I say "mostly" because I'll be here the whole time but Holly will be going to Knoxville to work with the RNK team for a couple days then up to Atlanta for the AEC for a few more days. So I'll have 21 days here and she'll have about 14 days.
I guess beignet's and coffee don't qualify as a "real" breakfast but it did the trick for me. Besides, I think I've had enough "real breakfasts". LOL! I stepped on the scales this morning and it was UGLY! The scales groaned and coughed up the number. I've set a new personal record. That's not good!
So I'm off the beignet's (and everything else I can think of) until I get the weight under control. But I can still look at a picture of them. I don't think that's fattening. :-)

That beignet looks yummy!
I hope that ya'll have a great vacation, and that Holly doesn't have any trouble in Atlanta with the expected storms.

So that was you all at Cafe du Monde that I saw blowing powdered sugar all over each other! LOL - just kidding. Glad you had a quick visit to great New Orleans (which is where I live and work) - I am a fairly newbie to embroidery and quilting and love reading the Bobbin Buzz.

Hope you enjoyed your brief stay in our city. Next time stay a little longer and pass a good time with us. We don't have any, let me repeat any, food in New Orleans that doesn't put extra pounds on you. Enjoy the Buzz all the time. I just joined Nita's, so now I belong to the 2 best site on embroidery. Keep entertaining us and giving us great designs. Love Ya!

Actually, there have been studies showing that for some people just looking at fattening foods can cause them to gain weight, lol.
I know you are on the road, but did you know that Weight Watcher's has an online program where you don't have to go to in person meetings? I have been doing it for nearly a year (March 22 is my 1 year anniversary) and I have lost 78 pounds. :-)
(I have pictures and updates of my journey on my blog http://www.arkanddove.com/WordPress/ if you're interested.) And with WW, you eat regular food, including restaurant food and it is extremely affordable - only $16.95 per month.
I am not saying you NEED to join ( ;P ) but if you feel the scale is tipping in the wrong direction, it might be something in which you might be interested.
I hope you have safe travels and lots of fun!
Blessings,
Krisann
Hi Krisann - Thanks for the info about WW. I didn't know it was that inexpensive or that they had a way for travelers to use their system, or that they had a website to use. All good news.
Congratulations on your transformation! I know a lot of people have used WW successfully and over long periods of time too. I'll look into their online programs.
I love your website! -- Larry

Larry, By the look of those goodies just being in the vicinity of them looks sinful. I'll bet they're deep fried to boot! LOL! Good luck on the abstention of all things wonderful! Not fun but worth it in the end.

So glad you were able to stop at Cafe du Monde, one of my favorites. Almost every time we go to the cafe I am wearing black but powered white when I leave. We live 80 miles away in Baton Rouge and visit often in N.O. just for the heck of it.
We do have some great food. It is very hard to stick to a diet here. I am on one too. Have a great time in Florida.

Welcome to Florida!
If you're in Navarre and staying at one of the two RV parks, then you're able to visit some of the best beaches Florida has to offer. I hope our weather warms up enough where you can enjoy them. If you need a place to run your dogs, there is a dog park in Niceville (the city just past the FWB airport) that is pretty good. My neighbors use it all the time.
Hope you have fun here!
Hi Lisa - Yes. We're in the Navarre Beach Campground. It's very pretty. There's also the "Emeral RV" and I saw a couple others that I think are also in Navarre. Thanks for the tip on the bark-park.

Glad you got to take some time to enjoy some beignets! Karen is right - never wear black when eating beignets! I know about them packing on the pounds. My daughter works at one of Cafe du Monde's mall locations and brings home the left-overs (free) at the end of the day. I had to tell her to STOP! LOL Hope you enjoy your days in Florida. - Margaret
Hi Margaret - I couldn't stand it if someone in my family brought those home! -- Larry
