We're halfway through the summer season now. How's your summer been going? Have you done half the things you wanted to do? :-)
Holly was digitizing up a storm for a couple weeks until the dreaded "new computer" arrived. It's always a time-consuming chore to switch over from your current computer to a new one. But it's also nessecary at times. Her laptop was 2 years old and didn't have enough room on the hard drive for all her stuff. (Her artwork files are huge!)
She has spend most of the last 4 days just installing all the programs and data onto her new one. I WISH someone would make a software program that will copy data AND PROGRAMS from your old computer to your new one. I know there are several programs that CLAIM to do that, but they really don't work. I've tried several of them. So she's finally back to digitizing for the most part although she's still finding programs that she needs to reinstall. And we are thankful for those programs that install easily and work right. They don't take up your time. It's the ones that need babysitting and burping that drive you nuts. Not to name names (MSFT) but some software just takes all day to get working!
Every summer when we return to our home area (Chicago suburbs) Holly makes the rounds of her doctors for an annual checkup. Yesterday was the last of those visits and it was for her mamogram. It's always a fun time - (NOT) - but nessecary. I won't go into details but it's an important thing to do and I'll leave it at that. It's good to get those things out of the way.
We both saw our dentist shortly after getting home and a couple weeks later had dinner with him, his wife, and his business partner. He's a terrific dentist with a state-of-the-art office. So the only scheduled doctor visits left this year are a final checkin with Tim before we head South for the winter. And we have the rest of the summer to spend visiting friends, co-workers and family in between our work schedules.
